BALLROOM DANCE - JIVE AND SWING , WALTZ

Jive is the faster version of the swing. Dancers use a more bouncy type movement using the balls of the feet a lot. A lot of kicks are used in jive. Jive is an American dance that evolved from a dance called the Jitterbug by removing the lifts and acrobatic elements. The Boogie, Rock & Roll and the American Swing also influenced this dance. Jive is a very fast, energy-consuming dance. It is the last dance danced at the competitions. The Jive is danced to music written in 4/4 time. The same time value (6 beats in 4/4 time) is used for single, double or triple jive. The difference in rhythm is determined by the number of steps, according to the speed of music. It is characterized primarily by its rise & fall action. The shoulders move smoothly, parallel with the floor, not up and down. The head should turn in the direction of the turn, otherwise the man's head is upright and looking over the right shoulder of the lady. The American Waltz is similar to the International style except it has both open and closed dance positions. This allows the American style dancer a unique freedom of expression, including the ability to showcase character and theatrical presentation. The slow waltz is danced to music written in 3/4 meter with 30 - 32 measures per minute. Rise and Fall The rise and fall is unique to the waltz. If possible, all the the steps in the waltz should be long. On the first step forward, the weight is taken on the heel, then on to the ball of the foot. A gradual rise to the toes should be started at the end of the first beat, and continued to the second and third beat of each bar of music. Lower to the normal position at the end of the third beat by lowering to the heel of the foot which is carrying the weight. Re-union With My Diploma Classmate

I'm taking bus at 3.45pm to KL to meet my diploma classmate, I'll reach there about 5.30pm if there is no traffic jam.. But now is Raya holiday , and i hope I'm the lucky one ... And won't meet traffic jam and can get to buy bus ticket going back to Malacca tomorrow . This gathering we will celebrate Suetyee(Cherry) and Recheal birthday also.. very excited to meet them later... After our diploma, this is the the first reunion we organise ... I'm so happy....haha! 2 years already.... time giong very fast... Got a sentence of lyrics i like .... " and the years go by so fast, wonder how i ever made it through " This from Sevage Garden's song called- ' Two Beds And A Coffee Mechine '... Unfortunately I make lost of that CD, so cant listen and hear it any more :( And no body download this song for me... very pity...:( He he.. just kidding la ! Then my next post will have a lot of picture and photo coming soon oo.. picture and photo about our reunion.. hehe....
